Supernatural Re-Watch | Post #6: Bloody Mary 1x05

It's been a while. After returning back from San Diego Comic Con my schedule ended up being all over the place. I didn't ended up getting back into the swing of things until this month (Yeah I know It's been almost over a month since SDCC). But hoping to getting back into swings and watching as much of Supernatural as I can. Let's begin.

Bloody Mary 1x05

Got to love urban legends. Children will never learn. Leave it to them to conjure unwanted guess. It's insane how young they look. How time has fly. It's been over 10 years and the show still connects with people.

The sound department is awesome. I always love the creaking sound of the impala it always brings her to life. It's funny how easily they can get the information from the morgue and the victims houses. One other thing that also has changed a lot from season one is the acting from the guess star actors the acting has been cliche from the early 2000s and some 90s.

The emotions of watching again Sam go through the lost of Jessica.

YES! It's awesome when they do the pop culture references of the time.

"Do I love like Paris Hilton", Dean

This show one time liners are always the best and Dean's timing is perfection. It's crazy how Jensen's voice is so different now. There something about the earlier seasons. It feels like he wasn't really forcing his voice like he is now. Or maybe his voice just changed. LOL

The timing is always horrible for the boys and brother always comes to the rescue.

Dean: Sammy?..
Sam: It's Sam...

Dean: This got to be 600 years bad luck.

Oh boy, you don't even know the half of it with the bad luck. On top of that the secrets you guys keep from each other. I always wonder in this episode what Dean felt guilty about. Maybe it was all the people he couldn't save.

Great episode. Something I did like about the earlier episodes was all the urban legend stories they used.

Supernatural Re-Watch | Post #5: Phantom Traveler 1x04

Phantom Traveler 1x04

THIS EPISODE IS HILARIOUS! I really do like the intros at the beginning of the series. With the line of "the family business".

We immediately see an actress I recognize from something else. Looked her up and I see that she will be coming out on the new show "Marvel's The Punisher". ALL THESE ACTORS ARE CONNECTED.

Nice shot of Dean in the bed being jumpy. We then jump right to the case. We get to the location and we jump to the awesome one liners.

WE GET THE BOYS IN A SUIT FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! "Looks like the Blue Brothers". But they do look good.

This episode reminds me of Final Destination. Everyone that was on that plane has to die. But instead of this one being death it's a demon who is trying to kill all the people who were on that plain. It's so funny how Dean tries everything in his power to stop going on the plane.

We find out his fear of flying which is hilarious. He gets calm by humming Metallica.

We also get the screaming Dean which is hilarious. We also get some more clues about Jessica which shakes up Sam.

We also end with more information about their dad leaving their information if they need help.

Overall a great episode to watch with little bread crumbs to the mystery behind their dads disappearances .

Wow... This movie. Really emotional journey. Really makes you think about the food you eat and where it come from. Also about the relationship between your pets and how deep it goes.

This movie was just weird. It felt all over the place with not really a good story line. I wish there was something more that would have connected the movie more. But it really didn't make much sense. You really have to put attention to it. I did like the special affects and the creature designs. But other than that. I wasn't really drawn to the movie.

This was the Spider-Man movie that I have always wanted. Everything I had expected from a film and more. This is what Spider-Man should have been from the beginning. I appreciate Sam Raimi's films and enjoyed them. I like what they did to the superhero genre. But this movie just blew every single one away.

Fun movie to watch if you are into the 80s set in today's time. Great independent film. Something a little different. Feel of Jumanji with horror.

Supernatural Re-Watch | Post #4: Dead in the Water 1x03

 Dead in the Water 1x03

We start the episode with the typical cabin in the woods by a lakes. One thing I do have to say about the show is I love the cinematography. It fits so well to what the show is. I loved that about it. The earlier seasons specially.

We have the into of the boys with this beautiful Dean smile.

I love this gif of him. Got to love Jensen. It makes me laugh so much and once again the soundtrack is amazing. Will continue saying it through out the show.

HAHAHA. "I am agent Ford. This is agent Hamill." STAR WARS REFERENCE. Maybe I should keep track of all the pop culture references.

FRED!!!

This show just makes me laugh so much with their one liners. This episode really hits home with the Dean. Really feel how important family is. Another thing about this show is the lighting. Can't stop looking at how everything is well put together.

We also find out that Dean saw when his mom was killed, another emotional moment for the brothers. One thing that I can't take serious is when the boys are in the car and we see the scenery in the window. (I see you blue screen. LOL) The special effects, got to love them. Also, how many clueless cops, cops with a secrets do we get in this show.

"Who are you and what have you done with my brother?" another line that I laughed out loud.

I like the fact that I am re-watching these episodes and I am re-discovering all these actors/actresses that came out.

Jensen talks about this scene all the time. How that scene was memorable for him because he was holding this boy in his arms. How he was carrying a life. Remember that from his first interviews.

And we end it with an awesome scene. SO CUTE!!!

July TBR, Goals and plans (SDCC) | 2017

I will be reading "It" slower than I thought. Didn't touch it this past month. But it's okay. Will be taking my time with this beast. This month I will be trying to challenge my self in the reading department. I been having a strong urge to read as many things as possible. With already 2 books (one comic trade and one children book) completed this month I am hoping to continue the consistent.

Although it will be a little difficult it towards the end of the month. Since I will be heading to San Diego Comic Con (SO EXCITED!! Been counting down the days). Will be hopefully be posting my plans for the convention on here.

Here are the books I am hoping to finish this month:

Mr. Mercedes (Bill Hodges Trilogy, #1) The Women in the Walls Incarceron (Incarceron, #1) Gwendy's Button Box

The Enchanted

1. Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King
2. The Women in the Walls by AMy Lukavics
3. Incarceron by Catherin Fisher
4. Gwendy's Button Box by Stephen King and Richard Chizmar
5. The Enchanted by Denfeld

I think these will be the only ones that I will be selecting. I am hoping to read more.

Supernatural Re-Watch | Post #3: Wendigo 1x02

Wendigo 1x02

We start with an iconic camping in the woods horror cliche scene. Got to love it. I do love that it does give nods to a lot of horror films I like.

We also get a look at young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) in his first acting role on television. The creepy monster in this episode the Wendigo is no joke, this creature toys with his victims and then eats them. Once a man it was manifested to pure evil as he was left to survive. It's a creepy monster specially being in the middle of nowhere in a surrounding that is not familiar at all.

During the whole episode Dean is worry about Sam and with good reason. Sam just loss Jessica and he doesn't care what it takes. He want revenge for what was taken from him. With Dean being worry we got one of the most important lines of the show, "I think dad wants us to pick up where he left off. Saving people, hunting things. The family business." Something that I always associate with Supernatural.

I really thought it was smart how they film this episode. Not really showing the creature, keeping the mystery to add the scare factor. That is what makes a horror story great the suspenses of waiting to see the creature. This is perfect to watch at night. The lighting of the monster was great. The reveal wasn't as amazing but it was still a good design.

The one liners in the show do cracks me up. They try so hard. Enjoyed the episode overall and like that they do have funny lines in emotional situations.

I will be keeping track of these things during the episodes adding them as the episodes go.

I really loved this movie. It was something different and refreshing to watch. We are currently in a time where all we have is reboots and sequels. It's good to see something original. I really recommend everyone to watch this film.

What can I say. I really liked this movie. Yes it is corny at times and it has it's moments. But I still enjoyed it. If you were a 90s kid you know what to expect from this film and I was happy with what they delivered. I also have to say that it was a well put together cast. I do hope they could make a sequel.

Supernatural Re-Watch | Post #2: Pilot 1x01

Pilot 1x01
Here we go again.

All the emotions in that first scene. Watching the happy family that they could have been. Which was torn away from them. We go from the iconic celling fire to present day. Were we see the brothers for the first time. They looked so young. It's insane that they are the actual age of the characters. The thing that I enjoy from the show is the relationship between the brothers.

I forgot how amazing the music selection is along with the soundtrack. Seeing the boys together in the impala is just hilarious, specially how they argue back and forth. In this episode we follow the Woman in White, which is La Llorona in Latino culture. The first time I watch this episode I was so excited because I knew the story from folklore.

There are so many moments I still quote from this episode from the iconic "Jerk. Bitch". Their banter and one liners still make me laugh even as I re-watch it. I think it's what make the show. Their relationship is such a key factor. They have each others back no matter what. The part that cracks me up every time I had watched this episode was the part were Sam pulls Dean into the room. It looks like Dean is caught off guard.

I do miss this feeling of the show. The dark color scheme. It makes it feel like a horror movie which I love. I really do enjoy the monster of the week formula because it ended up making me curious of the folklore behind the story and I end up reading up on the stories.

The thing I did like was how quick they think on their feet in situations. It made it believable because they do have history of being train since they were young.

Overal I really like the episode. It was a great introduction to the show and really brought interest into the mystery of what is going on and the relationships of these characters.

One thing I never understood was how did Dean get to that room so fast? Question that will never get answer.

These will be random thoughts about the show.

I will be keeping track of these things during the episodes.

Supernatural Re-Watch | Post #1: Intro

Reason Behind this re-watch.

I am excited to restart this journey with the Winchester boys. It has been years since I have invested and actually watched the show. I remember watching the show when it first aired a week before on the WB (yes back in the day when the CW was the WB) website even before it aired.  I was so excited. I was finally going to get another show about monsters and demons. Buffy the Vampire Slayer had been out of air for 2 years and Angel for 1 year (although I was more of a Buffy fan I still needed my supernatural/monster dose of the week so ended up watching Angel also). I needed a horror base show. As soon as it air it became a show I would watch week by week. Excited to see the monster of the week with the overall arc story. I was invested in the story and the online community was amazing.

The reason I departure from Supernatural was not the fandom it self (although sometimes it can get a little too crazy and out of hand). It was because the story was originally plan as a 5 season arc. With the creator stating that it was the plan from the beginning. I felt that the network was just milking its success. Season 6 wasn't helpful at all. I had really mix feeling of that season. I didn't ended up completing it because I wasn't enjoying the story line. It wasn't something I loved. So decided to step away from the show. That way my fun memories of the show wouldn't be ruin. I have gone back and seen episodes here and there, but I haven't really followed the story line or know what is going on.

Now 7 years later I have the desire to revisit the show once again. It's going to be a long journey to watch the show from the beginning to the current season, but it's something I hope I will enjoy. My mom started watching the show for the first time. I like talking to her about the show and her theories and how she enjoys it. It something that I didn't think she would like because it is horror. That is something she never understood or liked. She doesn't like horror but I LOVE it and now we both have a show that we both like that has those elements.

Also, the resent news of "Wayward Sisters" being a show, has me excited and interested to where they can take it. Seeing a show about female characters in that world is something different what I wold love to see. I am really looking forward to it and do hope it does get pick up.

Another factor for me wanting to take this journey is King Books (Alana). I have been following her for a while. I love her videos. But the only videos that I haven't been able to watch are her videos of her Supernatural reactions. For the reason that I don't really know what is going on in the show. But I have been seeing her videos about her love for Supernatural and her conventions visit that it really made me miss the fandom. The final straw was watching her reaction of the news of "Wayward Sister". Her excitement made me excited of the news and ultimately pushed me into wanting to begin this re-watch.

So these are the reasons for starting my Supernatural re-watch and for majority of the episode to watch for the first time.

I will be posting an episode reflection starting June 29 (this Thursday). I will be posting my reflection of the episodes every Tuesday and Thursday. Hoping to finish season 1 by September and then picking up season 2 in October.
