The Void ★★1/2

This movie was just weird. It felt all over the place with not really a good story line. I wish there was something more that would have connected the movie more. But it really didn't make much sense. You really have to put attention to it. I did like the special affects and the creature designs. But other than that. I wasn't really drawn to the movie. 


Spider-Man: Homecoming ★★★★★

This was the Spider-Man movie that I have always wanted. Everything I had expected from a film and more. This is what Spider-Man should have been from the beginning. I appreciate Sam Raimi's films and enjoyed them. I like what they did to the superhero genre. But this movie just blew every single one away.

Fun movie to watch if you are into the 80s set in today's time. Great independent film. Something a little different. Feel of Jumanji with horror.

I really loved this movie. It was something different and refreshing to watch. We are currently in a time where all we have is reboots and sequels. It's good to see something original. I really recommend everyone to watch this film.

What can I say. I really liked this movie. Yes it is corny at times and it has it's moments. But I still enjoyed it. If you were a 90s kid you know what to expect from this film and I was happy with what they delivered. I also have to say that it was a well put together cast. I do hope they could make a sequel.

I really had fun with this movie. It was a nice surprise. I think it would have been a lot greater film if they took the horror aspect a little more seriously. It could have been brilliant. But I get they where trying to hit a demographic. But I would have love to read the original script of this film.

I completely loved this. It was so different of the things I have seen. Really love how all of the directors presented their stories. It also didn't feel disconnected at all. A more broken down review will be posted later in the week.

Beware the Slender Man ★ ★ ★ ★

Documentary 
Summary:  The mythos of a faceless, digital-age bogeyman known as Slenderman was created on the Internet, but his influence was felt in the real world when two 12-year-old girls lured their friend into the woods for a brutal murder.
Short Thoughts: This was scary in so many levels. It make us think how much children could get their hands on without our knowing with the internet in their finger tips.  It also expresses that not everything is as simple when it comes to children.


Scooby Doo  (rewatch) ★ ★ ★

Writer: James Gunn, Joseph Barbera, William Hanna, Craig Titley
Summary: Two years after a clash of egos forced Mystery Inc. to close its doors, Scooby-Doo and his clever crime-solving cohorts Fred (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) and Velma (Linda Cardellini) are individually summoned to Spooky Island to investigate a series of paranormal incidents at the ultra-hip Spring Break hot spot.
Short Thoughts: Randomly saw this with my sister on the weekend. This really shows how much special affects has grown for only a few years.  We couldn't stop laughing with how corny this movie was. It was a fun watch.

Not a lot of movies watched this week but still a good batch. With splitting my time between reading and other things I think I did pretty good. These are the movies I watched between June 5th to June 11, 2017. I may end up doing single post on movies. Not sure yet if I will be going that direction. I think it will depend how many movies I watch a week and how interested I am with the film.


Mommy Dead and Dearest ★★★1/2

Documentary
This was just so disturbing. But I just couldn't stop watching it. It felt like an episode of Criminal Minds but the fact that it was true was crazy. I love documentaries. It's interesting to see all the facts and get more information of the focus of the documentary.


I Am Not A Serial Killer ★★★★★
Director: Billy O'Brien

I must read this book series. I enjoyed this movie so much. Really want to dive into the book series by Dan Wells. It felt like something different and I was surprise by the film. I liked that it didn't feel like a big film. It was more of a character piece. Also, with topics of what makes you human. Really did enjoy it. If you like horror and a thriller it's something I would recommend. 


Young Frankenstein  ★★★★★

Why I waited so long to watch this film I don't know. I loved this film, humor mixed with horror it was amazing. Every single joke so well place. I like that it feels like it still holds up today. Easily became on of my favorite movies.

It took me a while to actually sit down and watch this movie. Because I didn't really know what it was about. But once I saw it I was blown away. Don't know why I waited so long to watch it. Loved ever moment of it. And the soundtrack is amazing.

Screenwriter: Allan Heinberg
What can I said that hasn't been said. This movie is just amazing. Pure perfection. Everything we ever wanted in a superhero movie and movie in general.

I just had the need to re-watch this amazing movie. How many emotions this movie brought out.
