Why I chose book 6 | HarryChristmasToYou

I have chosen what books I will be reading for the HarryChristmasToYou Read-a-Watch-a-Long-a-Thon and it's a completely different reasons of what you are thinking.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is not my favorite one in the series. To tell you the truth. I don't think I have a favorite Harry Potter book. How can you chose one book from the series that made you love reading.

HBP was the first book in the series where I actually went to a midnight release party. Not only that, I shared it with my best friends of over 15 years. To this day we still have Harry Potter debates and discussions (the great house debate). Although my friend is not an avid reader this is a series we are eternity grateful for. Bringing two completely opposites to share a strong friendship. Like it has done to many others. It was also the first book that really open my eyes and showed me that others really liked books. Being a late bloomer to the reading game was not easy. But it's a journey that I have enjoyed. I love discovering new books and Harry Potter showed me to give any type of book a chance, the right kind of book can convert anyone into reading.

So I have chosen to read HBP once again. The journey of Harry discovering the history behind Voldermort and the choices he must take. Always.

Which Harry Potter book do you have the most connection to?

I will try to read another book in the series. But this one is the one for sure I will be reading.

Dewey's Read-a-thon | Oct. 2014

I will be joining the Dewey's 24-Hour Read-a-thon for the second time. I think it's a fun way to join a community of book lovers to read together in a fun way and challenge yourself to read the most you can in one day.

This time around it will take place on October 18, 2014 (Saturday). Start time are on the site.
What is Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon? For 24 hours, we read books, post to our blogs, Twitters, Tumblrs, Goodreads and MORE about our reading, and visit other readers’ homes online. We also participate in mini-challenges throughout the day. It happens twice a year, in April and in October.
It was created by the beloved Dewey (her blog has since been taken down, so the link won’t work). The first one was held in October 2007. Dewey died in late 2008. We’re still saddened by her absence, but the show must go on. The read-a-thon was renamed to honor its founder in 2009.
Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-thon is hosted by Heather and Andi of The Estella Society, with help from volunteers.
(information directly from 24hourreadathon.com)

I am yet to choose what I will be reading that day. Most likely I will be reading a book that I will be currently reading the day before.

Will you guys be joining the read-a-thon?

#LITTLEreadathon | Day 3

I really enjoying both these world. "The Shining" is putting me on the edge of my seat as I read more and more into the story. I really enjoy the writing style and how the characters are developing through out the story. I don't know why I haven't read more Stephen King before. I am reading slowly though. I don't really have that much time to read during the week because of work.

I have been getting mix feelings with "A Dance with Dragons" I have come to like more the chapters with the characters that I really didn't like in the begining of the series that with the characters that I liked. That suprise me. I really don't know how I am feeling about this book in the series. I am enjoying it but not as much as the other books. I will have to wait and see for my thoughts until I finish the book.

A Dance with Dragons (74)
The Shining (71)

 Books Completed:
 Saga Vol. 2

#LITTLEreadathon | Day 2

The reading continues with day two of the readathon. I read less than day 1 but it's still a great turn out for me. I read something. I am hoping that today. I will read more than yesterday. But pretty happy that I have read 558 pages so far. Hopefully I can actually finish one of the books tomorrow. I am really enjoying "A Dance with Dragons", George R.R. Martin can do no wrong. Also, I am loving the Shining. The character development in this book is amazing. How can people not love Stephen Kings writing.

 Books Completed:

Alex + Ada Vol. 1, Issues 6-8

LittleBookOwl is currently doing a low key readathon and I have decided to participate. This is just what I needed to get back into my reading routine. There is so many books I want to finish and this will give me a little push. I don't have a number of books I would like to read or page count. My only goal is to read as much as I could this week. Hopefully it helps me read more than I read last month.

Saga Vol. 2 (144)
Alex + Ada Vol. 1, Issues 6-8 (224)
The Shining (79)

Books Completed:
Saga Vol. 2
Alex + Ada Vol. 1, Issues 6-8

I am really enjoying what I am currently reading. I think it was a good idea to start with the comic books. I am currently reading both "A Dance with Dragons" and The Shining" and really enjoying both of them.
